Kit ’C’ contains a selection of parts that a customer may or may not require. For instance we stock oversized pinion nose bearings and these, see item 28 can be supplied at no extra cost in lieu of item 13. This particular bearing is particularly useful on Bentley S2 and Bentley S3 axles to prevent bearing spin. We can supply machined oil seal housings, see items 30,32 and 39, ready to accept a modern oil seal, or even supply the seal, item 33 itself. However in view of the shipping costs we will provide our customers with sketches showing the simple machining of a seal housing and the sizes of the metric oil seals that we use, free of charge. All customers of Kit ‘B’ receive a modified heavy duty pinion housing, item 3, 26 or 31, shown in Kit ‘C’, ready assembled to suit their particular axle.
Kit ’C’ therefore contains items that we require for the assembly of our exchange axles, but Kit customers do not require some items. We will always discuss these sorts of options with all our kit customers so they may proceed speedily with their axle repairs.
